Week 4      (September 21- September 28)
Estimated Color 15-20%

On the morning of the 25th, shortly after the sun came up we spied a huge double rainbow to theWest. The second arc is not easy to see in this picture but you can faintly make it out in the upper right hand corner of the picture.

By the time Chris got on the bus for school, the effect was gone.

The trees surrounding Flint Creek (at the falls by Route 96) are beginning to show their color. Between Isabel and a strong rain and wind storm on the 26th, I thought we might lose most of our leaves. Fortunately the trees are hanging tough.

The trees lining Main Street in Phelps are also beginning to show their color.

This picture was taken on Sunday, September 28th as we were leaving Seneca Castle - heading for 5 & 20. After Friday and Saturday's storms the sky was a deep rich blue with giant clouds.

This picture was so impressive (in its full size) that I have added it to the "Wallpaper" section of the web site.
